Insurance agent Jeff Fletcher tries to provide clients with the best insurance packages possible for the least amount of money. When he won a PGE Save More, Matter More™ lighting retrofit sweepstakes, he saw the opportunity to apply similar efficiency in his own business.
He upgraded lighting in his office and throughout the building he owns, which also holds a retail store and a restaurant. Now his building is better lit, the bulbs last up to three times longer, and he’s estimated to save about 60 percent in his annual lighting-related energy use.
Fletcher projects the retrofit will pay for itself in about three years. “Everything after that is pure profit,” he says, “And the whole time, we’re helping save valuable resources.” That’s a package he can be proud of.
